About the Repository
CReaTE (Canterbury Research and Theses Environment) was launched in July 2011 to provide a digital collection of the research output of the University. Due to compliance with international standards, materials deposited in CReaTE are indexed by Google services ensuring that they are easy to discover.
Any Canterbury Christ Church University member of staff or researcher can deposit material in CReaTE.
There are significant benefits for researchers depositing items in an institutional repository:
- Complies with international standards favoured by Google ensuring deposits in CReaTE rank higher in search results.
- Open Access articles are cited more frequently than non-Open Access articles.
- Institutional repositories provide for the long-term preservation of research and offer a show case for the University’s research.
